Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling
I was hesitant to begin reading the Harry Potter books. I bought the first book but it took me a while to start reading it. I did not begin reading the books until sometime between books four and five. Once I started reading them, I became hooked! They are enjoyable books for all ages, however, due to some of the situations Harry finds himself in as he begins to grow older within the series, I recommend the books for individuals ten years old or older. If younger children read the books, I recommend a parent reads the books as well so they know what their children are reading. The books are full of good versus evil and Harry encounters some really mean and evil individuals. The "evil" situations are not too disturbing to read, due to the fact I love the books! It is all about your definition of what is evil. Just remember all of the other good versus evil stories there are out there. . . the Star Wars Saga, to name one. Of course, these books are strictly fantasy which allows children to learn about situations that occur in the real world without having to point a finger and a real person or situation in the real world. J.K. Rowling does an awesome job keeping the readers engaged!
